SPECIAL MEETINGS!

Prayer meetings will continue the first, second & third Sunday nights of each month, but, at least through December 2008, we will be hosting special services the last Sunday night of each month.

If you are tired of being casual or lukewarm these meetings are for you! You will be challenged to impact those around you. The goals include exhorting, equipping and releasing into destiny.

October 26: Prophet John Mark Pool

Nov. 30 & Dec. 28: Bro. Jim Humphrey will continue his teaching on the Gifts of the Spirit (with question & answer sessions)

"What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. All of these must be done for the strengthening of the church."

The Apostle Paul in 1 Cor. 14:26

From 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, each Sunday night, faithful from Greenwood gather for our "Hour of Prayer ."

(Sometimes this hour of prayer is longer than an hour, but anyone is welcome to come or leave at anytime.)

We believe that prayer, and especially corporate prayer, is powerful!

That is why we established Sunday night prayer. We invite you to join us for an hour of prayer. Often, people choose to stay longer to pray or fellowship together.

Sunday evening prayer varies from week to week. Sometimes we pray for nations and leaders, other times we may focus on needs within the church-revival, leadership, growth. We sometimes take personal requests from those attending, and other times we pray for requests people leave in a "prayer basket" in the front of the church during the week.

With pastoral leadership present, a small group setting, and mostly believers present, this is a safe environment to practice moving in the spiritual gifts (1 Cor. 12).

As the verse at the top of this page indicates, this is a service for every believer. We encourage those attending to share testimonies of recently answered prayer, insights from Scripture which they may have received in their own devotional time during the week, or to share a tongue and interpretation (again, 1 Cor. 12).

So, as you can see, we try to be Spirit-led. Sunday night is dedicated to prayer, but, in a very real sense, it is also what our Pentecostal fathers and mothers would have called a "Believer's Meeting."

Prayer Request

The congregation of Greenwood has sat under Biblical teaching on healing, and many have completed a Hunter Healing School training.  Most importantly, we have seen healing in the Bible, and in the church through prayer.

There is opportunity, each Sunday night, to receive caring, compassionate ministry (Mark 16:18, James 5:14) if you are in need of healing.

It would be an honor to minister to you in your time of need.

*If you are not able to come out to be ministered to, please contact Pastor Ryan at 717-360-5854. A pastor and several caring congregation members will come to your home or hospital room to minister to you there.
